The music industry has changed drastically in the last twenty years. Free music reigns. That means, artists — at least those outside the mainstream–must work harder than ever to protect their lawful property. Copyright protection? Giggle, giggle. It’s simply not a priority for the biggest platforms (hello YouTube!).

But rather than curse the darkness, cry in their beer, or rage against the machine, our client is doing something constructive–to even the odds. They’re building an advanced platform (Perl) on fully owned infrastructure, for people who create, manage, and use music in their business. This enables musicians and other industry professionals to retain ownership of their assets. The result of this security? Greater creative freedom and more collaboration between peers.

This small team is looking for a full-time, mid-level developer. You’ll use Catalyst, TT, Moose with Plack, and mod_perl. Standard testing tools. Node for some services, Elastic Search, nginx, and Postgres. Deployment is managed with Ansible.

As you’d probably guess, the company sometimes hosts concerts onsite. Their location, in Shoreditch, is ideal for it. They’re a stone’s throw from the best restaurants (free snacks during office hours). The team is friendly, intelligent, intellectual, and international.
